You're making strides toward a successful future for your child by providing them with additional resources outside the traditional learning environment. (After all, children are like sponges. Their ability to learn far surpasses ours. Give them opportunity!)
Obtain Copy of Syllabus.During the first week of most classes, students receive a syllabus that explains what will be required of them during the course. Usually quizzes and exams are scheduled and homework is shown out visually on a calendar. Obtaining this syllabus allows parents to get actively involved in their child's school career. You will know when tests are taking place and what type of homework is due on which days. Knowledge is power when it comes to your child getting good grades.
Remember that any activity which requires young learners to read, write, and rewrite important spelling words is great practice. Do not limit your ideas to the usual practices of writing each word in a sentence or copying it 10 times. Those are important activities to assign, but they should not be the only ones.
